The National Society for American Indian Elderly (NSAIE) was established in 1987 as a 501 (c)(3) organization to improve the quality of life for on-reservation American Indian senior citizens by supporting a network of tribally established and administered services. It is managed by an American Indian Board of Directors who live and work with the American Indian elderly whom they serve. The NSAIE project has generated more resources by placing VISTA volunteers directly with the tribal elder programs to focus on the need in individual communities.
