Nebraska Disability Preparedness Team
A major initiative of the Disability Preparedness program is to continue to develop collaborations that promote widespread geographic and cultural representation in disaster and emergency preparedness and response activities. This effort has resulted in an expanding, Commission-appointed advisory council called the Nebraska Disability Preparedness Team.
This team promotes the inclusion of individuals with and without disabilities - and groups representing individuals with disabilities - in disaster preparedness and response activities, including training, and resource and activity development. The team also assists the Commission in drafting policies, providing guidance and resources educating Nebraska communities.
